Find the right home and support arrangement

Diamond Care Victoria delivers support in accommodation settings across Melbourne's south-east: supported independent living in our shared homes, short-term accommodation and respite, and medium-term accommodation while your long-term home is arranged. We're a registered NDIS provider, approved to 9 October 2028, and every home is one you can walk through before deciding.

Funding, untangled

Housing, rent and support are three different budgets

Most confusion about NDIS housing comes from mixing three things that fund separately.

The support

Workers helping with personal care, meals, skills and overnight needs — is what your NDIS plan funds, under Supported Independent Living or related supports. That’s what we deliver.

The housing itself

If you need specialist-built accommodation, that’s Specialist Disability Accommodation, funded separately. We are not an SDA provider, and most people receiving SIL don’t live in SDA.

Rent, board and groceries

These come from your own income, like any other household.

We’ll walk you through how the three interact for your situation, in plain English, before any agreement is signed.

Real houses in real streets

Each home’s page shows its layout, its support model and its current vacancy status with a last-updated date, because we’d rather show you an honest “no vacancy” than waste your week.

Matching

How matching works

We don’t fill beds. We match households — routines, noise, food, culture, communication styles and what a good day looks like. You visit, you meet the household, and both sides have a say. If it isn’t right, we say so, because a bad match costs everyone more than an empty room.

FAQs

Questions people ask us

What’s the difference between SIL, STA and MTA?

SIL is ongoing support where you live. STA is a short planned stay — days to weeks. MTA is a medium bridge — typically up to 90 days — while permanent housing is arranged. Different budgets, different purposes; we’ll help you work out which applies.

Are you an SDA provider?

No. We deliver the support inside homes — SIL — not specialist disability housing stock. If you hold SDA funding, we can still be your SIL provider in an SDA property run by someone else.

Do I pay rent in a Diamond Care Victoria home?

Yes. Rent, board and groceries come from your income — your NDIS plan funds the support, not the tenancy. Every cost is itemised in writing before you commit.

Can I visit before deciding?

Always. A walk-through and meeting the household is a standard step, not a favour. We’d be worried about any provider that skipped it.

What if I already have support workers I like?

Tell us. In a shared home the roster covers the whole household, so it depends on the arrangement — but we’ll give you a straight answer, not a policy recital.

Tell us what you need. We respond within one business day.

Call the office, or send the request form and we’ll confirm your funding pathway, your suburb and whether we can genuinely deliver what you need. If we can’t, we’ll say so and point you to someone who can.
