Diamond Care Victoria provides NDIS-funded basic yard maintenance across the City of Casey and Cranbourne — lawn mowing, edging, light weeding and green-waste handling — where disability makes these tasks unmanageable. It's funded under Household Tasks in your Core budget, and scoped honestly: garden upkeep for safety and access, not landscaping.
The reasoning
Why the NDIS funds mowing
Because an overgrown yard isn’t a cosmetic problem. It’s a trip hazard on the way to the letterbox, a fire-risk letter from council, a reason the front door stops being used. Where disability stops you maintaining the basics, the NDIS can fund support to keep your home’s outdoor areas safe and usable — the same logic as household tasks, applied outside the walls.

- Lawn mowing and edging
- Light weeding of garden beds and paths
- Light pruning at ground level
- Sweeping and clearing of paths and entries
- Green waste bagged or binned
Out of scope — no exceptions, for good reasons
- Tree removal and arborist work
- Working at height
- Major landscaping, retaining walls, paving
- Rubbish removal beyond green waste
- Anything needing licensed trades or specialist equipment
These aren’t us being difficult — they’re licensed, insured specialist trades, and pretending otherwise is how people get hurt. We’ll happily point you to the right local operator.

Questions people ask us
Is gardening genuinely NDIS-fundable?
Basic yard maintenance can be funded under Household Tasks where disability prevents you doing it — it’s about safe access to your home, not garden aesthetics. We’ll confirm against your plan first.
How often will you come?
Most yards need attention every two to four weeks in growing season, less in winter. We’ll set a schedule that matches your yard and your funding, and adjust seasonally.
Do you bring the equipment?
Yes — mower, trimmer and tools come with us. If you’d rather your own equipment is used, tell us.
Can I do some of it myself, with support?
Absolutely — if being in the garden matters to you, support can mean working alongside you, not instead of you.
My tree needs lopping — can you?
No — that’s licensed arborist work and we won’t touch it, for your safety and ours. We’ll refer you to someone qualified.
