Community participation

Out the door and into your community

Diamond Care Victoria delivers NDIS-funded community participation and transport support across the City of Casey and Cranbourne — support to attend activities, appointments, groups, work and study, with a worker matched to you. Funded from your Core budget under our registrations for community participation and travel and transport support.

The point

Participation is the goal; transport is just the how

The NDIS doesn’t fund outings for their own sake — it funds what they build: connection, confidence, skills, a life with places to be. So our support starts with your goals. A standing gym session. The Saturday market at Cranbourne. TAFE two days a week. Family across town. Then we solve the practical layer — the support worker, the transport, the timing — so the goal happens weekly instead of staying an intention.

In practice

What this support looks like

One-to-one support to attend community activities, groups, events and appointments. Support to travel — with a worker, on public transport while you build confidence with it, or in a vehicle arrangement agreed in your plan. Help with the parts around the activity that can otherwise sink it: planning, booking, money handling, navigating the venue. And a worker matched for the long haul, because turning up with the same trusted person is half of what makes new places feel possible.

Vehicle and transport arrangements vary — worker-accompanied public transport, participant vehicles, or other agreed options — and yours is set out in your service agreement before anything starts.

Funding

The transport funding conversation, plainly

Transport in the NDIS has two parts that people constantly mix up.Support to travel — a worker accompanying you — comes from your Core budget like any support time. Transport funding — contributions toward the travel itself — depends on your individual plan.

Provider travel costs are charged per the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and appear in your service agreement before you sign, not as a surprise line on an invoice. We’ll map exactly what your plan covers in the first conversation.

FAQs

Questions people ask us

What kinds of activities can be supported?

Whatever moves your goals: sport and recreation, classes, groups, volunteering, worship, appointments, shopping, visiting people. If it’s lawful and in your plan’s scope, we’ll support it.

Can support build toward independent travel?

Yes — travel training is one of the best investments in a plan. Worker-supported trips taper as your confidence grows.

Can I do group activities instead of one-to-one?

Yes — group and centre-based options run through our day programs, often the more economical choice for social goals.

What about cancellations?

Life happens. Cancellation terms follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and are written plainly in your service agreement — you’ll know the rules before they ever apply.
